| We may have a problem! What should I do? Okay, so I'm switching Reesie over to Orijen and I started him with 25% of the Orijen and 75% of his old food (Wellness, which he is bored with and does not like to eat). He loved the Orijen and was very excited about eating it. The only problem is, he picked through all his food and ONLY ate the Orijen and left the rest of his old food. (Not that it's old food, but it's what he has been eating, you know what I mean. LOL!) Anyways, I've always heard it is bad for their bellies when you switch their food instantly over to the new stuff. What do you think I should do?

| That's normal behavior, if he is hungrey enough he will it the wellness. It's amazing how they can pick out the kibbles they like....lol. One of my girls was able to switch foods in a day with no ill effect, she did the same thing and refused her old food.

| Should I keep offering the 25/75% mix?

| That's what happened with my pups too. Nala was absolutly fine with the quick switch (but she also wasn't as good as Bandit as picking out pieces of new food lol) but Bandit had a bit of loose poop but nothing horrible, and he has SUCH a terrible stomach. I also added yogurt to it too which I think helped. |

| it's best to transition to a new food slowly so the dog doesn't get runny poop. one thing you can try to do is add water to the orijen food and heat it up a little in the microwave, then crush the food and make it into a paste and mix that with the old wellness food. that way it will smell kind of like the new orijen food, and your baby might be willing to eat the wellness that way. hope this helps, good luck!

| milu trained me well. of course this suggestion wouldn't work for milu. if i try this with her, she would laugh at me and walk away.

| Another thing I will do when switching food is to mix it all with a little bit (like 1 tsp.) of plain yogurt, as it helps with tummy upset and tasts good too.
