I saw pinky's poo containing fat/grease deposits... why is this.. its not every day... just random times... it looks as if u leave hot oil in a sauce pan and then when it gets cold its like a yellowish grease... sorry for the graphically mental image lol |

| Have you thought about changing her diet to perhaps one food to see if there is a change in her stool? Hills, Science Diet is not the best food don't know about the other's. That would be my first choice to change foods, gradually of course. Hope other's can give you some insight in your problem. Good luck, hope you can get to the bottom of it. |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | You linked a picture of a canned food, and many of the canned foods I've seen have what looks like to be little fat globules, I'm not saying that's what it is, but some food goes straight through the intestines without much change. If you are concerned about his poop, I would ask a vet, as long as the puppy is eating well, gaining weight, not vomiting or having diarrhea, and has plenty of energy, the food is probably good enough. Puppy food is generally higher in fat than adult food.

| mucus in stool can also be a sign of stress. i just took kayden to the vet for loose stool with mucus. the vet did a stool sample test and good overall exam. nothing abnormal. but...we are moving from one house to another (slow move...taking a couple months) and the drive is about 45 minutes. that trip a couple times a week...with the addition of starting doggie daycare caused her to feel stressed. but the vet explained to me that all stress isn't bad stress. just like kids going to disneyworld is fun...but is stressful because it's a change to their routine. so...we added psyllium powder to her food for a couple days...and...viola! no more mucus in the stool. she's been off the psyllium for about a week now...and stools are fine. she just needed a little boost to get her bowels back to normal. this is just my experience. i would for sure take your baby to the vet and let them do a stool sample test to make sure. best of luck to you! kelli and kayden |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I agree w/ what others have said. Is the poo overly light colored or voluminous? Or gray-ish? That could be a "fatty stool", and a vet should see it. Either way though, I'd want my vet to see the stool, just to be sure. Like Nancy mentioned, this could just be undigested food but it'd be good to have it looked at. Also, are these areas more "fatty" or more like mucus? Btw, if there is mucus at the *end* of a poo, this may just be the anal glands emptying. If they are emptying too often though...that may also warrant considering a diet change .
