if this is the back end of the dog then flea allergy needs to be ruled out as one flea bite on a flea allergic dog can last up to 3 weeks what organic shampoo are you using?

Thanks for the info I have used it only once but the shampoo is earthbath tea tree oil and aloe vera. She did have a few fleas around her bum but i check her daily for them and remove them I know that sounds nuts but I hate that they bug her . My vet told me to give her benedryl peds for the itching and it has helped. I can see the hair returning now but when it was coming out it was all notted as if she was chewing it. I am also trying to get her off beneful wet food she was on it when i got her I have tried mixing dry and that dosent help either. VERY SPOILED!

If she has had fleas, you need to treat her for fleas, and also wash her bedding. it is best to use like Frontline plus because then any fleas that you have in the house will be killed as the get on her. They can also get a bacterial infection from scratching and that can cause hair loss. It'sd good that you have a vet appointment.

Thats the werid thing to me i washed all toys and bedding and i use front line and everytime i take her out side they seem to attack her. I usually find 2 or 3 everytime i check her when we come inside from going potty. I wont bath her untill she sees the vet. she keeps scratching but the skin looks fine and moist not flakey or dry and i keep her inside more to use her pee pads and it seems to help. The fleas arent really bad as it sounds i thought that may be her going thru her first heat had somthing to do with it and we are holding off on spaying her untill i know what the problem is. She is the only animal i have and i am a clean freak so i thought also may be i was bathing her to much . Thanks pebbles and kk

my newly adopted mimi came home with one small quarter size patch of missing hair, didnt think much of it then over a two weeks period it has spread to the other side of her bum, and starting to go up her back. do you think its a flea allergy? there are some very small pinkish bumps in the area of hair loss also. i have noticed her digging latley too. i thought maybe it was fleas so i bathed her in adams flea shampoo and applied a fles treatment that the old owners gave me for her called vectra, but it isnt stopping the itching, any advice??
