| Heartworm Medication Anyone use Sentinal? We use it and have never had issues. Just wondering what type of heartworm and flea medication everyone is using out there.

| We are using Interceptor. I wanted to use as LITTLE medication as possible- Interceptor is ONLY for heartworm. Fleas are not life threatening and if Layla ever got them I'd rather deal with it then rather than put more chemicals in her body to deal with an issue I doubt we will ever face. |

| I understand fleas aren't deadly but the disease they carry can be deadly/dangerous. The sentinal is a pill form that prevents heartworm and fleas.

| You are right- but that's just the choice I made. Layla is not an outdoorsie gal in the summer as she gets too warm, so I don't see fleas as a real issue in our case. |

| I use interceptor for heartworms for the small dogs and interceptor for the big dogs and frontline plus for fleas, the little dogs do not get flea meds unless they are need it.

| I've used Sentinel and have for the last 2 years. I like that it has the heartworm and flea protection in one. Its also what my vet recommends. I just placed an order online for it for the first time so i can save money. I don;t know why i didn;t think of doing that before. All you have to do is tell the vet so that they fill out the fax prescription from when it comes in.

| We use Interceptor. It hasn't given Ella any issues. We don't use flea medication. I may buy some this summer to use but i don't know yet. She went all year last year w/o fleas so who knows if we'll use any this year. If we do decide to use some flea preventatives does anyone have a recommendation?
