| puppies and heartworm meds I have four eight weeks old puppies. Half Yorkie Half chihuahua. The weigh between 2 to 3 lbs. (they're gonna be gaints =) the vet game me Heartgard for the puppies. the package says "for dogs up to 25lbs" my question is... that yummie looking tablet looks EXTREMLY big for the puppy. Am I suppose to give the whole thing to the little ones??? |

| i would look into inteceptor for toy breed as have read that is a better option than heart guard - in california we do not need this but i have read alot on this |

| Intecepter or Sentinal for toy breeds is a much better choice.....the amount prescribed is better broken down by weight. Don't know how old our pup is but, it's not recommended to put them on heartworm meds until 5 or 6 months of age.
