| collapsing tracea and dental cleaning Hi, I've just recently learned my baby has a collapsing tracea and he is four years old. It's time to get his teeth cleaned, but I've learned this could actually damage his tracea more if I get them cleaned by the vet - but if I don't get them cleaned it could lead to horrible issues. Any ideas or advise? Kong's mom. |

| Have you talked to your vet about your concerns? They do intubation in the throat when they do the anesthetic so I can see why your concerned.

| I just started going to this vet since I just moved. He dx him with CT, but then told me I needed to have his teeth cleaned b/c that would lead to more issues. I remember reading it wasn't good to do teeth cleaning on dogs with this condition. So, I got upset and went home. I have not called the vet back again. I am thinking about finding a new vet. |

| You might need a vet that is very familiar with small breeds.

rduke, yes Prince also has CT and I have had two vets refuse to do teeth cleaning because of the risks. I wanted to post this quickly, but I will pm you in a second. I see you're also in GA.

| Hi! I'd love to pick your brain about this! I am so sad! What are you doing about not cleaning the teeth? What are you doing for the CT? |
