| Sleeping too much??? My dog Nigel is 5 months old and he sleeps all through the night gets up goes pee and poop like regular then plays for a few minutes and sleeps most of the day until he may get a little active that night but just likes to lay around most of the day.....is that normal for a puppy?

| I think puppies are usually very hyper, then they will plop down and sleep for a few hours. Is he not very playful? Usually at that age they would be chewing/teething like crazy, and very hyper, playing all the time.

| I have a couch potato too. My vet said not to worry - and that they sleep 70% of the time - especially when they are little. My guy sleeps all day while we're at work and then at 4:30 to 10:00p - it's Party Time. |

He plays when he is up, he plays longer if I play with him. But he is happy to sleep on my lap, or in his bed, for hours at a time!

| I agree my boy is 7 months old and he is a lounger and has been since we got him at 4 months. when we play with him he gets really hyper and has this high pitched squeal and then right after that we usual try to calm him down then he passes out for about 6 hours. such a lazy boy, but happy as a clam! |

| hmm, I guess then that's why Uni is such a spaz. When she was about that age she was just crazy energy all the time. A few times me and my bf went out and left Uni in our room. His bro said he thought we were still upstairs playing with her b/c she was so loud running around up there all by herself!
