| Car sickness..... Has anyone come up with a treatment, and hopefully a preventative for my Mr. Darcy throwing up almost everytime we are out in the car? I was at the vet today for his rabies vac, and she said gingersnap cookies?? Anyone heard of this? They do have a new medication, but it needs to be administered 2 hours before travelling, and can only be used 2 days in a row - doesn't work for me..... |

| I have heard of gingershaps, but haven't used them. My Meika used to get car sick, and luckily grew out of it. It seemed to help when I let her ride on my lap (yes I know that is unsafe), and I'd lift her up to look out the window once in a while. Some people found improvement getting a dog car seat, so they can see out. Another person recommended anything with ginger.... ginger ale, ginger cookies, or from the health food store a tablet called Ginger Trips. Good luck.

| I have heard about the ginger too. I think I will try that with Harley. He gets so ill when we go for rides.

| I'd heard about gingersnaps. I have different opinions...I gave it to mine and they did not get sick-cannot say if it was from the cookies or not. Then I gave it to Maggie May and she threw up the cookies along with whatever else. The snoozer car seat seem to help quite a bit. They can look out while moving. As with humans, your eye can focus so I really think it makes a big difference for them to sitting up higher. It seems as though when Maggie started looking out did her car sickness subside. She was definitely a barfer when it came to motion. She got sick in the car as well as on the boat. She's fine now after 1 1/2 years.

| Mine gets nervous and shakes like he is cold in the car. He doesn't throw up in the car, but he does in his purse if I take him in the store or something. I think the motion from being carried in his bag and all the new sites and sounds make him barf. I wish he would get over this because stores complain when I take him in just holding him. I got kicked out of WinCo of all places for having him in my arms as I picked up a couple things. I told them to keep their grocery items because they hate animals. They said it was unsanitary to have my dog with me and escorted me out of the store. I think grocery carts are much more unsanitary than my baby and I told them so. Won't go back there again. I only like to shop at stores that let me have my baby with me when I only want a couple of items. He just turned one so I hope he gets better in the car, I won't put him in his purse again though because that is when he gets sick. He likes to sleep and lay in his purse at home though. So cute! |

| Ruger got sick on the way home from the breeder and a couple of days ago when I let him ride in the back seat. He's never had a problem in the front seat or in my lap -- so far. |
