| Not eating his food anymore Since saturday I noticed that Shadow didn't eat much, and yesterday only some pieces of carrot i mixed in with his food. I had to hand feed him some of his food. I came home today and still didn't eat anything. The only way i got him to eat was mixing in some of his "vita-life beef strips". I have the petsafe automatic feeder, and it turns 3 time daily at the same time everyday. I have him eating Royal Canin puppy food. Shadow is 6 months. Just recently had blood in his stool but its cleared up now. Did he just become a very picky eater? |

| If he is not sick anymore, maybe he is just tired of that food? I switched Uni's food soooooo many times. She would just stop eating it. I would have to beg her to eat, mix in canned, warm it in the microwave. When I switched foods, she would eat the new food, then get tired of it. Exactly when I would purchase a 2nd bag, like the next week she changed her mind and didn't like it anymore Finally found Wellness and she loves it.

To the OP, make sure that Shadow is at least getting something in him and that he is not starting to have signs of hypoglycemia (low blood sugar). If you give him things like chunks of chicken he will certainly get spoiled and not want to eat kibble, but at teh same time, hypoglycemia can be very serious. Good luck!

| I can get shadow to eat, if I hand feed him or let him see me put vitalife beef strips mixed in his food. He is still very active. |

| My little guys like things added to their food too. I feed a good kibble (just changed from Royal Canin Puppy because of the corn content) and at each meal I add a little something. Some times a little chopped chicken, sometimes a little cottage cheese, or a sprinkling of grated cheese, sometimes vegetables like cooked carrots. I don't mind doing this and it keeps them eating their meals. I feed them two small meals like this (a.m. and p.m.) and free-feed plain kibble. I don't look at it as spoiling them. I think they get bored with their food too. Good luck with your baby.

| Sprinkling a little shredded cheese on top of Harper's food ALWAYS has worked for me.

| ways to spice up plain kibble My yorkie gets bored with any plain kibble he is on Wellness small breed and I try to mix it up by grating a freeze dried liver treat on top, halo makes chicken and beef powder for sprinkling and I also make a little "gravy" by adding a little water sometimes. I buy Natural balance rolls and grate them on his food too. Hope this helps someone with a picky eater. Danny also has a sensitive stomach and allergies do I try to keep him on his kibble as much as possible. |
