Dry Skin? Hello YT members! My Yorkie/Poodle Cody has dry skin, and I'd love to know of any solutions to this problem. We are planning to switch his food to Innova once his bag that the breeder gave us is close to being enough to switch him, but the dry skin only occured recently. Any suggestions?

Mine has flaky dry skin and am suspecting it is Royal Canin that causing the problem. I'm bringing him to the vet for his Rabies shot today and will ask what could be the real prob. Will update what the vet says.

If you bath your dog a little too much it can dry the skin out. Innova is a great food, but if your experincing dry skin, look for a food higher in DHA Omega 3/5. Don't get confused with ALA Omega 3. This article describes the difference. Article Information- The Benefits of Essential Fatty Acids Orijen Puppy Food (Has the DHA) or something equivalent or you can supplement with a little Salmon oil.

Maddie has been scratching a little lately too. I was wondering if the cold weather outside and dry heat indoors have anything to do with it I know this time of year is heck on my skin. I have slacked off on baths and used more refreshing-conditioning spray.
