My gorgeous Chico is 3 1/2 years old and he got Auto Inmmune Anemia 1 1/2 week ago. We took him to the vet but they were closed on Saturday and we took him to Petsmart. Big mistake they sent us home with medicines, He was vomiting and getting worse. We took him to the vet on Monday. Thanks God! He had his blood levels at 10%. We should go to the hospital the same day we went to Petsmart He went to emergency Monday night, got a transfusion and stayed in the hospital until this Monday. He had some kidney problems, his BUN values were super super high, but now they are closer to normal. Any advice you can give me to take care of him at home and make him feel recovered soon? Any place where I can get recipes to cook him at home. The vet told me to do boiled chicken with potatoes, carrots and some pasta. Our baby looks so much better than 1 week ago.

http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/ima...er_offline.gif I have a 3 1/2 year old male named Chico. He is the baby of the house. He got sick about 1 1/2 week ago, didn't want to eat. We took him to the vet and they were closed on Saturday. We took him then to Petsmart, big mistake, the vet did not know anything, told us it had 95% survival. He had only 15% red blood cells. Normal is 50%. Gave us medicine, he continued vomiting. Took him again on Sunday, gave him some injections and told us to come back next Thursday. On Monday, he did not get better. Took him to his vet, he had 10% red blood cells. My little baby wouldn't make it that night. We took him to the hospital for a blood transfusion. He stayed there for 8 days, got complications with his kidneys. BUN values were out of the chart, more than 130, they didn't know if he would make it. We cried the whole week, visited in the hospital 4 times a day. He got better on Friday, and he began eating on Sunday. He was discharged this Monday. He is in a lot of medications. He looked lovely, recovering his strenght. The only problem he doesn't like the low fat diet I'm cooking for him (boiled chicken, potatoes, carrots, pasta....). Any suggestions? We are visiting the vet tomorrow to check his red blood cells levels. His recovery is the best Christmas present.
