| Help dealing with very first heat cycle? Oh I am such a bad bad puppy mom. I had so much money saved off that I worked SO hard for to get Luna. I had enough to pay for her, all her vet shot and check up bills and her spay bills. Well I do have some very serious health problems and I had an to go to the hospital and the money I had saved had to go towards medical bills, so here I am with my little Luna who will be going into heat ANY day now. I did get some little diapers, but what else can I be prepared for? I never thought I would have to deal with it so I never knew anything about it. How much blood will there be? And will there be any temperament changes? Any help is great! Thanks!

Sometimes 'life' just happens! I am sure that those with insight and knowledge will be along shortly I do think I read somewhere tho, that there is a coupon you could potentially get that is honored at some locations for a discounted spaying. I may be wrong, but maybe someone can refresh my memory and provide this info for you.... Maybe just another option? Good luck and I hope you are well now.

| If Luna hasn't gone into heat yet, can you borrow the money to get her spayed before she goes into heat? Maybe ask for that instead of Christmas gifts? By spaying her before she ever comes into heat you will eliminate her risk of ever getting mammary cancer. |

| Depending on how she is, you may never see much blood at all. Mine get a little tired and sometimes want to be left alone, other times they are more lovey.

Oh I know, thats why I'm so devastated. I have no family but my mom and my grandmother. I've never met my dad... and I'm not even getting any christmas presents because our money situation is SO so so tight. I can't work because of medical problems. Thats what makes me so mad... I pushed myself very very hard to earn that money to pay for Luna in the first place. I just feel so awful I'm one of those people that plans it out I have EVERYthing set way in advance and now its all messy.

| Don't worry, that means I am a bad mommy too. I didn't get Uni spayed at first b/c I wanted to breed her! Now I know that's NEVER going to happen, when I made up my mind things got bad, and I can't afford it now either! But she will be soon, I promised myself. Anyway, some girls keep themselves very clean, some others not so much. Uni didn't bleed too bad. Not enough to even need a maxi pad. Some others more so. Really depends. The most bothersome thing I felt was the hair kept getting matted around her butt with wearing the diaper all the time. And since she is pad trained and just goes when she wants, she has peed in her diaper before LOL. So have at least 2 on rotation. I also call them chastity belts. Her first heat she did not have mood swings, but her 3rd time oh yes! She was mooooooody! Uni only goes into heat about every 8 months, plus she was a late bloomer, didn't have her first heat till 13mos.
