| I haven't started brushing Cody's teeth yet as I'm waiting for his permenant teeth to come in. As for my Chihuahua (8 yrs old), I use a doggie tooth brush and some chicken flavored toothpaste. |

| Teddy learned to use the electric toothbrush early on. Here's a link to his video. All three of my dogs do brush their teeth but only Teddy uses the electric one. When they were puppies, I got them used to putting my hands in their mouths and getting them to first accept the toothpaste. Once they did that I let them see the toothbrush. Eventually they allowed me to go ahead and scrub their teeth. Now, I scale their teeth and brush them and they just sit there and let me. I've had 9 years of practice but it was not hard. Barney is 9 years old and has never needed a professional cleaning at the dentist and Daisy has only needed one in 9 years. Teddy's teeth have nothing to scale yet Good Luck!! http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/my-...oothbrush.html

| I brush Bailey's teeth every second night, I tried little toothbrushes, they were still to big for his little mouth, so now I use a cloth wrapped around my finger.

| YES YES YES YES YES!!!! It is a MUST DO! Last year, when Hendrix was 3, I took him to the vet to get his teeth cleaned because his breath was really bad and he had a lot of plaque.... WELL- His teeth were SO bad and dirty that he ended up needing 7 teeth pulled! Nobody had ever told me the importance of brushing his teeth, so I just didn't know any better. But that experience was awful (and EXPENSIVE) so now we try and brush both of our Yorkies teeth almost every day. I have found that the dog toothbrushes are very hard on their little mouths and the brushes that go on your finger are hard to use..... especially because my dogs mouths are SO small so what I do is I buy baby toothbrushes. I just get the ones from the drug store that are meant for infants or toddlers and they work PERFECT! Plus they are softer And then I just get a yummy flavored dog toothpaste. Hendrix doesn't mind his teeth brushed at all anymore.... they key is to start out slowly until they get used to it Goodluck! |

| Yes I do. I learned with my last dog to brush their teeth. I use the toothbrush that goes on your finger, with the dog toothpaste. It has made a difference - Emmy is 7 and hasn't had to have any teeth pulled yet. |

| I used to use baby toothbrushes, but we just found a really small one that fits in Bandit's mouth at PetSmart. It has three teeny brushes so it gets all angles of the teeth! |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | No (hangs head in shame), we don't brush - my guys eat raw, I give chews for their teeth nearly every day, also give ProDen Plaque Off Sprinkle.

| No I need to get started. He's 1 year old w/ no tarter or teeth issues YET but I'm slowly trying to get him used to the brush. You'd think I was killing him when I try to brush his teeth. He gets lots of bones and bully sticks though.
