| hill's diet? Hey- I need some advice. Because my yorkie went thru a bout of pancreatitis, I have been advised to use the hill's science diet. It is lower in calories and fat. Has anyone used this and if so, what is the exact name? I'm dizzy after looking at all the different kinds out there!!!!!! |

| we use hills diet here. I am completely satisfied with it. Buckeye has a sensitive stomach and we have tried other brands. we are not experts but it works for us. we normally feed the adult small bites. right now they are on the puppy small bites because Ahia is pregnant.

This is from another post I gave but I think it goes well here too. Matise is 1 year old and I started feeding this to him at 10 months of age. After the vet had said it was ok to switch him from a puppy diet to an adult diet. I feed Matise Hills Science Diet Prescription Diet I/D can food. Matise has had some gastrointestinal problems in the past (a little vomiting for no apparent reason and all x-rays, blood tests gave no reason-he seamed perfectly healthy but for some reason he was vomiting) So we, my vet and I, thought it could possibly be a food allergy or sensitivity-possibly to animal by products so I changed his diet to the I/D can (not the dry because it does have by-products in it) the vet said it is a complete nutrition diet so it is perfectly fine to feed it to him indefinitely, and it doesn't have animal by-products. He loves it, and no more vomiting. And I am happy he is getting a complete diet with no animal by-products. I know that because I give him soft food I make sure that he has non-edible toys that help clean his teeth and I will have to keep an eye on them and take him in for regular teeth cleanings. Hope this helps.

| Bo had a bout with pancreatitis and I have him on both Hills id cannned and dry. He is a picky eater and really likes both plus he is doing alot better. He is eating more of the id than any of the other food I have given him. |

| Thanks for the info about the hill's diet. Blades has been eating the canned ID formula with a mixture of the dry. She really gobbles both down! Is this low in calories? |
