| How Long Were the Stitches In For? When your puppy was fixed? Thanks!

| Both of mine had dissolvable (sp) stitches. We didn't need to go back to the vet to take them out.

| Don't remember exactly. I think it was either 11 or 13 days. We could have done it anytime between day 10 and day 14.

| Apple was 1 yr. old, when she was spayed...we checked the stitches @7 days and decided to wait 10 days, but I think it was about day 11, before I could get back to the vet... |

| Piper's stitches were dissolvable and she never had to return to the vets after being spayed. I think the stitches were gone after about a week and the incision had healed nicely with no redness or swelling.

| Well, technically...they were supposed to be in for 14 days. But despite me watching her constantly and keeping a onesie on her all the time, she still managed to pull them out on day 5 or 6 by rolling herself around on the carpet, itching, and who knows what else. I FREAKED OUT when I saw the stitches laying on the floor, but I looked at her belly and it was already healed. A little red still, but it was shut. So I called the vet, and they said it's not an issue, just bring her in for her check up at 14 days. I guess they were probably itching her from the wound healing and she figured it was time for them to come out? Now you can't even tell where the scar is, so it still healed just fine despite her being a little trickster. |
