| Chocolate. Yes or no? Between all the studying i found some time to post this. So the last week i'm studying day and night and i'm drinking a lot of coffee to keep me awake but i'm also eating a lot of chocolate to keep me happy :P Takis just stands there and looks at me with these pleading eyes i can hardly resist. But I want to be sure about chocolate before I give him some. Firstly what ingredient of chocolate is bad for dogs? What will it cause to them? What if I give him a piece every week or two pieces a month or even less? I just know how great chocolate is and i know how it feels when you can't eat any but you can see and smell it. I don't want Takis to feel like that.

| Chocolate is not good for dogs... certain kinds are deadly, but even if you are feeding a kind/amount that is not lethal, the sugar is not good for them either. Just keep some treats near you and when you eat chocolate, give the little one a treat... they dont know the difference! |

| Please don't give him any chocolate. It contains theobromine which is toxic to dogs even given in small amounts.

| Thank you all I'm not gonna give him any, that's why I asked before giving him. I knew it's dangerous.

| You can buy Carob chips for him. Dogs have a sweet-tooth just like us, so carob chips would be fine in moderation of course. Carob Chips (Sweetened) - Chips - Toppings - Chocolates & Sweets - NutsOnline

| I have to say, that when I was a kid, my dog ate two large boxes of Christmas chocolates that were wrapped and under the tree. We came home to paper everywhere and all the chocolates gone. She threw up a few times and looked a little green but was completely fine. I think she would have thrown up if she had eaten that much of just about anything. So though I would never give my dog now any chocolate or suggest it is fine for dogs(I am sure it is not) I have to wonder why my first dog was perfectly fine. Perhaps there is more exaggeration to the chocolate issue or some breeds can just tolerate it, I don't know. Just thought I would share.
