| Do you give Greenies to your furbabies? I know there's a Greenies thread here, but that was some years ago and I really have a big question mark in my head right now. I'm sorry...but I'm really confused I always do researches on everything I give my furbaby, from foods, crates, snacks/treats to toys etc. I read the news about Greenies causing the death of dogs (2006), and I was scared to death and do not want to buy it although the staff in pet shop recommended it. But recently I found another article, and I'm wondering if I should buy Greenies for Sugar...do you give Greenies to your furbabies? I have no idea at all! | I understand your confusion. I read here on YT that many gave their yorkies greenies as a teeth cleaner so I bought a couple. Sophie didn't like them at all and buried them both in the back yard never to be seen again. After reading opposing views on greenies coupled with Sophie's reaction to them I will not give her any greenies in the future.

| Do you mind to tell me which brands you're giving your furbabies now? I'm desperate to get a good one. Sugar doesn't like the current one that I'm giving her |

| They have changed the formula so it is now digestible. I know when I did feed them, Gracie and Katie had nice smelling breath. The greenies do seem to make them put on weight.

| Greenies There are many copy cat versions but "Greenies" are the true one. I give them to four of mine, one doesn't care for them. They even make a "lite" Greenie for those watching their weight. They get one a day usually right before bedtime (good for the teeth & breath) and I buy the Teenie size.

| I used to give them (rarely), but that was before I read the obstruction reports. Their new formula is safer, but I don't really prefer to support the company and I still do not fully trust the product. So I do not give them.

| Yes...I still have doubts, but it seems most of the pet shops in my place recommend Greenies |

| I am always a little leery of recommendations. Three books I bought on Yorkshire Terriers and written by "experts" recommended nylabones for teething yorkies and I found out later that the small chunks that can be bitten off are not necessarily digestible and have caused internal bleeding.

| Fiona gets greenies here and there, and does fine with them.My doxies cannot digest them, so they don't get them. They have re-designed the shape and form of the greenies. They have greenie pieces out there, I wouldn't reccomend getting those, they can make your dogs choke.

| My breeder said she had been giving her yorkies them for a long time but recently had one choke on one. She no longer gives them to her furkids and recommended the same for me. No greenies for Zoey, ever.

I totally agree! I no longer use Pill Pockets since Greenies bought them out. I simply do not trust that company.

| Besides.... after reading about potential teeth problems and having them myself, I decided to start brushing her teeth as soon as we got her. We do it about 3-4 times a week. She enjoys brushing with mommy (bites down on her brush many times, while watching mommy brush her own teeth) and also likes the vanilla flavor toothpaste. I also will brush them a little for her - works best having her bite down slightly and I litely pull the brush back and forth. I am sure this is probably not the most ideal or perfection, but works great for us and she is now getting use to it and enjoys it.

| I gave Missy a greenie once. She chewed on it for awhile, decided she didn't like it, then got diarhea a little while later. I just brush her teeth. She enjoys it anyways.
