| What to do about biting his feet? I recently took Tucker to the vet for itching and the vet seems to think he has allergies. I started him on benadryl but he keeps biting his feet. I am not sure if it is seasonal or the food he is eating. What is the best food to be on if it is a food allergy? |

Donating YT 10K Club Member | Typically food allergies are related to grain and sometimes chicken products. There are several high quality food available without these ingrediants.

| I've always read that raw is best for allergies...You can buy pre-made frozen raw medallions from naturesvariety or from primal...they both very convenient to use and the dogs are crazy about them.... |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Food allergies are the least common type of allergies (10-15%) - seasonal/enviro accounting for the rest. When did this all start? Did it coincide w/a food change or a season? What are you feeding? No matter whether food/enviro - allergy dogs usually do best on grain free diets. It takes a while to figure out whether this is food/enviro. If enviro, then you have options in terms of meds - ie OTC Anti-hists, Prescript. hists, steriods, Atopica. But first...you have to figure out what the allergy really is...
