| Keeping furbaby calm after spay How long did you keep your furbabies "calm" after spay surgery? My vet said no physical excercise or jumping for 14 days, and that includes no walks outside. My Rio is going stir crazy in the house and so am I (I took 2 weeks off work just to take care of her). She's short and tiny so I realize I don't want her tummy on wet grass etc. but she's so depressed not being able to go on her walks (she gets at least 3 walks a day usually). |

| Here are the instructions we received after Sophia's spay: • Restrict your pet’s activity. Walk dogs only on a leash and discourage running, jumping or rough play for 7-10 days. We walked her twice a day only on the sidewalk, not on grass. One of the walks was just a short "bathroom break" walk. For a week, we watched her like a hawk to prevent her from jumping up on anything but I don't think she would have tried. We kinda let her regulate her own activity that first week and she slowly became more and more active. |
