| Safe Flea Medication Hi can anyone give me advice on flea medication? Murdoch is 4.5lbs & has started to get fleas He is currently taking the heart worm prevention Worm Shield. I've heard terrible things about Advantage, Frontline & Comfortis - can anyone tell me what flea medication would be safe to give to him? Thanks |

| I think advantage is pretty safe to use. My vet even recommended it for a 3 week old kitten and nursing mother. I have used it for 5 yrs on my yorkies without any problems. If you want something natural you could try brewers yeast tablets or pepermint oil

| Best Natural Flea Control Natural Flea Control and Tick Remedy. Official TripleSure Site. Flea and Tick this is what I use and it works great he has had no ticks or fleas since I used it you spray it on them and rub it around into there fur you need to spray it about every three days depending on the season I have been using it since summer it is safe and you can get 2 sixteen ounce bottles for 39.95 and they last a long time cause you don't need to spray much on a Yorkie I reccomend Triple Sure it works great and is very safe just go to the website and read about it and all the good things people say about it |

| We use the Frontline Spray in the summer months when we find fleas/ticks. All the brands you have listed are safe. What did you hear about them? Also, I've never heard of Worm Shield. Franklin and Maggie are on Interceptor for heartworm prevention and it is one of the safer medications out there since it comes in a lower dosage.

Thor's Human Donating Member | Sigh. So I finally, definitely, no two ways around it found a flea on Thor tonight. He seems to have a scratching problem in general. I'm not sure if he needs more exercise, if he's allergic to something, if it's a nervous habit... or he's infested. I got the flea and killed it (no blood, so it hadn't fed). I spent another 30 minutes going over him with a fine tooth comb, literally. I couldn't find any more. I just applied his first dose of Frontline. Is there anything I should know about Frontline? I assume you are supposed to apply it between the shoulders so the dog can't lick it up - but Thor's shoulder blades are basically next to each other. It seemed like way too much liquid for one dog. Do I need to worry about him possibly getting some in his mouth? What does Frontline do to kill fleas, exactly? |
