| Dry/canned or both? When we brought cricket home, she was eating Nutro Max puppy dry. We kept her on that and added a little Nutro Max puppy canned to it. She started having loose stools, so we stopped giving her the canned with it. She stopped eating. We have taken the dry and smashed it with a hammer and then added it to the canned, as she will only eat the canned when it's canned and dry now. she leaves the dry in the bowl. She is 10 weeks and I don't want her going without food. Please any advice?? She's very active and her stools are loose, other than that she is great. Thanks in advance. |

| These little Yorkies can sure be finicky eaters can't they? Schatzie is also on the Nutro, but the Nutro Ultra. She loves it. I use both the canned and the dry kibble and she prefers them mixed. I add a little wet onto the dry kibble and microwave it to warm it up. I then stir it together and she chows down. Have you tried warming up Cricket's kibble with the wet? Maybe this will help? My first Yorkie, (RIP) was real real tiny as Cricket and I actually had to feed her with a syringe most of the time. As you, I smashed the kibble, added canned, warmed it up and stuck it in the syringe. Cut the tip off to make a bigger hole so the food could squirt out with ease. She was extreamly finicky. Have you tried giving her Nutrical a little before Cricket's chow time? I have found that it aids in giving them an appetite. Hugs to Cricket and I hope she begins eating better soon. Keep us updated on her progress.

| you can get nutrical at any pet supply store.... toby was never a picky eater he has always wolfed his food, but if he was dogs arent the type to starve themselves and i would just leave the food out for when he wanted it.... there are several different "tactics" to feeding dogs, i have toby on a set amount of food twice a day (once in teh morning and once in night..... always on a schedule) lately he hasnt been wolfing his food down like he has since weve had him so i think he finally realizes that no one is going to take it away.... for the dogs that are picky i would suggest leaving the food down 24-7 and they will eat it when they are hungry |

| My puppy was eating Iams puppy beef with Science Diet. Both grossed me out, so I swtiched to Eukanuba puppy bites and Pedigree chicken in gravy bites. I mix about a cup of the dry with probably two tablespoons full of the wet. He LOVES the chicken and gravy and gets some of the dry with it. I know its not recommended, but I bought a couple different brands and let him sniff them. Maybe you can figure out what appeals to your pup that way.

| I Feed Both NEMO STARTED OUT WITH EUKANUBA WHEN I BROUGH HIM OVER FROM THE BREEDERS, BUT THEN SHE SUGGESTED CEACER'S CANNED FOOD FOR FLAVOR, WELL EVER SINCE I STARTED FEEDING HIM THE CAN HE WILL NOT EAT THE DRY UNLESS I MIX IT WITH THE SOFT FOOD, OR IF I SOFTEN THE SOFT FOOD SOMETIMES WITH CHICKNEN BROTH HE WILL THEN EAT THE DRY. I'M NOT SURE WHICH IS BETTER I GUESS THEY ARE FINIKY EATERS. AND MY JOB IS TO CATTER TO HIM I GUESS ( SUCKER ) I GUESS WHATEVER WORKS FOR EACH DGO INDIVIDUALLY |

| I want our two girls off the canned food (they have Caesar or Butchers once a day and complete biscuit food (Wagg Time) the rest of the day. But I would like them off the canned food although they don't agree - why are yorkies so stubborn?!! LOL Main reason is that canned food can be a bit rich for Gizzie 7 months although Gypsy Rose is fine with it. Also we will be touring in the motorhome for 3 months and it can get hot in there and canned food will go "off" quickly. What do you do when your yorkies don't agree with your ideas though?!! Cricket is young and it's important she eats something on a regular basis and warming the food sounds a very good idea. Bet he's cute!! Ana xx |
