I have heard that if your girl goes into heat accidentally before you spay her her chances of getting cancer increase almost 50%???? but if they are a breeding dog or have at least one litter there fine. I have also heard that it is Good to let your girl go through one heat before spaying her?! Does anyone know the right answer to this?

I have no idea if this is right. I have a 14 year old Shih Tzu that I did not get spayed until she was 3 1/2 years old and she has never been sick other than with her teeth and she had to have major dental work last year. I guess they are just like people some will get cancer and some won't.

There is no need to let her go through one heat if you want her to be spayed .

Obviously there's no need to let them go through a heat if your spaying them. That's why i said ACCIDENTALLY! My breeder told me not to spay my girl until she was 7-8 months old because if you spay them to early their hind ends end up higher then they should be (that's what my breeder said). But Ruby went into heat when she was 6 1/2 months old so i was caught off gaurd and my vet wouldn't touch her for a spay due to the swelling and blood flow in that area, he said it would have been dangerous.

If they go through one heat, the increase is approx 8-10%. It increases with each heat thereafter.
