| Has anyone tried accupuncture on your furbabies? My little Princess is basically paralyzed from a neurological disorder and I was thinking about trying accupuncture to see if it could possibly help to decrease some of her jerky movements. I was just wondering if any of you had any experience with this. Thanks |

Donating YT 500 Club Member | I've had accupunture myself that was helpful, but have not had it for an animal before. It might be worth checking into tho. At least ask questions to see if vet could help with this. Went to a pet expo yesterday & picked up a brochure from a vet's office who does it. Didn't know we had one here in town who does it. Says treatments can be anywhere from 10 seconds to 20 minutes depending on the situation. Multiple treatments may be required. Positive response is generally seen after 1-2 treatments in chronic cases. Tapering off of appts gives greatest amount of symptom-free time elaspses between them. The booth was so busy, I didn't get a chance to talk to anyone there. Have no idea of the price. Good luck you & your little Princess. Poor little thing!

| Thank you for the information. I was wondering things like how long are the treatments and if they are once a month and such. I will call the vet on Monday. I just missed the office closing the other day. I hear it helps people and so I thought why not. Just not sure if it will help her particular condition as it is congenital and perment. Thanks again. |

| I did see a price per session runs about $120 and that will add up quickly so I need to see if the vet can somewhat predict if this treatment will help and to what extent. I understand it will not cure her but if she could relax enough to be able to use a wheelchair foe dogs to increase her mobility it would sure be worth it. Not that she is complaining being carried all the time but some independence might be nice. |
