| Looking for some thoughts Layla went for an utlrasound and bloodwork at a nearby teaching vet hospital. Both came back fine- even her lipase- which was normally HIGH at our vet. In the past 4 times Layla has had her blood work done- 3 times her lipase and Spec cPLs have come back very high. Layla's vet sends the blood to an outside lab- as their lab reults tend to come back high. So now i'm confused- did she ever HAVE pancreas problems if both the lab results and ultrasound results came back fine? Could BOTH our vet and their outside lab have produced wrong results? The only indication Layla has that she might have a pancreas issue is she can't handle oil supplements. Should i continue her on the supplements she was on for pancreatitis? (lipase) I am feeling very confused. |

My only response to you is that it is always wise to get a 2nd opinion. If they don't offer the same results, and you're confused, maybe a 3rd maybe in order.

am i correct in assuming that the university vet hospital will have more accurate results? Or is that jsut a myth since they are such a widely known vet clinic.

| Since her cPL has been high all along, I think there may have been something wrong. The outside lab is most likely not going to be wrong that many times. It's hard to say what was wrong or if high numbers are normal for her. Did the university send the blood out or did they do it there?

Could her cPL have been wrongly high? It was normal back in Feb. any thoughts on what this all means? Does she still HAVE a pancreas problem? Can I start to try and bring good fats in?

| in the future we are either going to go to guelph for her blood work or have it sent there- I almost wish her lipase would ahve come back high from the university. then there would have been consistency- now i am doubting whether or not there was actually a health problem this past year... |
