| If you use a product like frontline plus, any fleas that are in the house will return to the dog and die. They have to return to the animal to complete their lifecycle. You can use dawn dishsoap to bathhe him and that will rid him of the fleas, but then you must rid the house of the fleas. |

| Great tip, I've not heard of bathing in Dawn dishsoap. I use Frontline Plus on Zhoie, however, I've noticed the day it is applied, she seems a little lethargic/subduded until later in the evening. Spoke to vet about it, he assured me nothing goes into the bloodstream, feels she is reacting to it being on her, aware of it etc. Anyone else had this issue with Frontline? My vet says he wouldn't use any of the other brands on her.

| The fleas were really bad this summer. We live in the country with a big grass lawn and we couldn't let our dog outside any because every time we did she would get fleas. All our neighbors had the same problem and the receptionist at the vet's said they have been a problem for everyone. The Frontline drops didn't work for anybody. I had to take Abby to the vet for tapeworms; he said they are caused by fleas. They gave her a pill to kill the fleas and it worked almost immediately. The pill lasts for a month. I treated the house kind of like you would for head lice, I washed all the bedding in hot water and sprayed the carpets, sofa, etc. You can buy the spray anywhere that sells pet supplies. There also is a treatment for the yard, but our yard is so big we didn't do that. Once my daughter had the pest control people treat her yard for fleas, you might consider that also if they get too bad. |

| Frontline did not work for me this year. I would HIGHLY recommend the pill Comfortis. You get it at the vets office. It lasts 28 days and is about $15 a pill. Fleas will be gone off your pup within 30 minutes, its that great!

When you vacuum, make sure you put a flea collar in your vacuum cleaner bag or canister. Good Luck!

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | there are alot of flea pills, sentenal is a good one, and for infestations there is capstone. sentenal is a monthly pill and it will sterilize the fleas and prevent them from laying eggs...Advantix is also good but the dogs have to weigh more then 3lbs for most of these meds. Good luck with the flea problem... Carla |
