| Vomiting Yorkie Hello everyone. I'm new to Yorkietalk and already have a concern. My 12 wk old puppy seems to get sick once a week. Usually on Saturdays. He gets to where he starts throwing up several times, gets weak and lathargic. I usually rush him up to the emergency animal hospital and they keep him overnight. So far blood work looks good and so does his anatomy. He sometimes makes snorting and gagging noises through out the week. At first I thought he had reflux. Sometimes bile would come up out of his nose. The hospital put him on reflus meds for 5 days but only to help with digestion. Does anyone else have this problem and what can I do? As you can see this has gotten very expensive. Please help!!! |

| Has the vet ruled out pancreatitis? I know he seems young but it would be good to make sure that is not the case. |

Luvs Lulu Donating Member | What are you feeding your pup? What are you doing differently than you would on the weekdays? Are you free feeding or do you feed your baby on a schedule?

| Are you sleeping in later on Saturday's and delaying feeding? Sometimes they throw up yellow bile when their stomachs are empty...this needs to be explored! |

| it sounds like a case of empty stomach; you want to give a late dinner or early breakfast to avoid the emptying of the stomach; this will eventually lead to gastritis; my dog had that and i had to rush her twice to the ER due to vomiting blood. what food are you feeding him and how many times daily. it's best to feed 4 small meals daily for dogs with upset stomach; try boilded chicken and rice; if not gerber baby food which can keep him hydrated; you want to make sure he's hydrated when he's vomiting; good luck
