| Happy and Scared New Momma Hello Lovers, This is my first posting. I have my first puppy Buster Brown. He has been sick with kennel cough and parasites. I cannot get him to eat wet food. I tried the Eukenuba that he started off on but he would only eat the kibble dry not wet and would not eat the canned puppy food. I have him know eating the Wellness puppy kibble but he won't eat their canned food. I have tried boiled chicken, cottage cheese, eggs and he just won't eat. I keep giving him the Nutro puppy gel because I am so afraid of him not getting enough nutrients. He isn't even really interested in treats either. He is only 13 weeks old and is 2 lbs 3ounces. He is happy and not listless but mommy is so worried about her little boy. Honestly this is all so new to me I am not even sure I am posting this correctly. As long as he is eating the dry food you do not need to worry about him eating the wet as well. make sure he is eating and drinking tho. wellness puppy food is great. i assume he's on antibiotics for the KC and meds for the parasites too so if you can get him to eat a little yogurt that would help his system out. try non or low fat plain yogurt. the nutrical (i'm assuming that's what you meant) is ok for now too since he's not 100% healthy.

| Thank you for the welcome. Buster is on medicine for the kennel cough and parasites. I went to a natural pet food store and they recommended petdophilis and colestrum for him. I have to feed it to him mixed with water as he will not eat wet food. Is human turkey bacon bad for him? He got a bit that fell on the floor and loved it but I am afraid it's too salty for him but it's the first thing he seemed interested in. I would not feed him the bacon for a meal but as a reward for good puppy behavior if it was not bad for him. Last edited by Buster Brown; 10-13-2009 at 04:36 PM. |

| I don't think turkey is good for them. They do not need wet food, it isn't good for their teeth anyway. Congratilations. |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Welcome. As long as he is eating kibble he doesn't need the wet food. I would steer away from feeding him any people food as these little ones tummies can get upset pretty quickly.

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | i wouldn't give him any people food right now, especially the turkey bacon. the salt isn't good for him. just let him eat his kibble since he enjoys that. its ok to just eat kibble. many dogs do.

| Thank You All for you Help I thought that the bacon might not be good so I will keep him on the Kibble and hopefully when he is off the medication he will get a bigger appetite. I really appreciate being able to get feedback from others. I just want the best for my little boy. |

| Some Nutri-Cal would not hurt. I gave Max some when he was a pup just brought home and had ear infections and ring worm. I was worried he was not getting enough nutrition.
