| Found a lump on my Lillie's shoulder =( My lil girl loves shoulder massages, adores them. So every morning before work I sit down and give her one. Well, this morning I was rubbin away and noticed a pea sized lump on her left shoulder that scared the bejesus out of me. I immediately called the vet and she told me that since Lillie just had her final puppy shot and rabies shot a couple weeks ago, it could just be a small reaction that could take several weeks to clear up. But the vet also told me to keep my eye on it because it could turn into some sort of 'reaction disease'. I'm kind of confused on what to do. I have to go in and get Lillie's heartwork meds next week so I'm thinking I might just bring her in so they can look at it while I'm there.... Anyone else run into this? If so, what was the outcome? Did the lump go away?? I'm so scared for my baby! |

| I am sorry to hear about Lillie's lump. Was it located at the injection site? If so, maybe that's why your vet thought it might just be a temporary reaction. I hope so. I'm sending positive thoughts Lillie's way! Let us know what the vet says. Jackie & my Sophie |

| Yes, my babies usually get a sore lump at the rabies injection site. It should go away within a week or so, & it's nothing to worry about.

| I have had many get lumps at the injection site. I am sure she will be fine! I think what your vet was referring to is a condition called cutaneous vasculitis which can happen with the rabies vaccine. It causes hair loss and open wounds. It needs to be treated right away or it will spread. They treat it with steroids. I seriously doubt it is that....but you should keep an eye on it.

Hey there! My Eva recently had her Rabies shot. She got her little pea size lump about 4 days after and its been more than two weeks and it is still there. It gets a little smaller each day. Eva's was right at her injection site. It is also still slightly tender. That vaccine seems to cause nothing but worry. The day after Eva got sick from it too. We won't be doing that Vaccine every two years that's for sure. Try not to worry, hope it shrinks down soon.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Pixie had a big lump from her last rabies shot and it took over a month to go away, butit did go away completely. It sounds like that's what Lillie has.
