| Anyones pup get spayed/neutered and no get teeth removed? I thought for sure Bailey would have to get teeth removed when he was neutered yesterday, but when I picked him up the receptionist told me he didn't need any taken out. I was under the impression that all yorkies retain baby teeth

♥Tiny Tia my Furbaby♥ Donating Member | Tia didn't have any teeth removed at her 6 month spay. Now she has 2 upper canines that need to come out although 1 fell out a few weeks ago which leaves 1 remaining. The vet said it should come out soon.

| I got Peanut neutered at 4 months, at the time he didnt have any that needed to come out.. then about 6 months he had a couple doubles in the front and I took him in to get those pulled and the Vet pulled like 10!! He kept them for me too, to show me.. Hmm not ALL of them MOST of them.

| When I had Murphy neutered at 6 months, most of his adult teeth hadn't started coming in yet. I had to take him back at one year (after they were all in) and have 10 baby teeth pulled. He's my first yorkie to have retained any teeth that had to be pulled.

| Hi that's interesting b/c my little guy Izzy was neutered in August. While he was under the vet called to ask if they could take out his baby teeth. I said yes, might as well while he's under. But when I picked him up they informed me that his heart was too weak under the anesthesia, so they didn't keep him under any longer than they had to. So he still has his too. But they told me they will do it another time, in a couple of years. She said Yorkies are well known for having bad teeth? Happy Thursday! |

| Oh darn, I hope Bailey doesn't have to get any pulled down the road, although by the sounds of most of your posts he probably will have to. I hate having to put him under again

| Josh had adult and baby canines in his upper jaw. The baby teeth did not fall out until he was a year old. I got him neutered after all of his baby teeth fell out. I think playing tug-of-war helped them fall out. |

| Gunnar was neutered at 6 months and had already lost his baby teeth. lots of tug of war did the trick I guess. I only found a couple, but the vet said he didn't need any pulled. Donna

| Wow, Hot Rod had 14 removed at his neuter (6 1/2 mos). I have all but one, it went down the drain as the tech was trying to wash it off. lol

| Gizmo was neutered when he was 8 months, just a couple months ago. All his baby teeth fell out on their own (before his neutering) and his teeth are all in perfect condition!
