| I know they can get colds, but ,when I got Bailey I had a really bad cold, so when I took him to the vet for his first visit, I asked my vet if He could catch my cold, from me... he said " no" .

| I've talked to 2 different vets about this. NO they cannot catch OUR colds or illnesses. It may seem like it because they get lathargic but it's only because they can sense that you're not feeling well. I was concerned because when I got Coco at 9 weeks, she was TINY and both my roomate and I had SUPER bad flu virus. But I was assured she would be fine and she was.

| Gracie ended up going to the vet a few months ago and had tonsilitis. The vet said she got this from being around someone with soar throat....me. So yes, I think they can get colds ect. from humans. Heather |

| I think they can. I have heard they can catch strep throat and flus so you would think they can catch colds. |

Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | I just googled it, and the only thing I found was that people CAN'T get colds from dogs. I would guess it works the other way around. Eddie and I got a cold at the same time, but we were in the same cold, wet conditions camping out. Eddie's lasted about 3 days, and he snapped right out of it. Main symptom was sneezing.
