| what is best for IBD? I am pretty sure Rosco has IBD. What is the best dry dog food for that. His culprit is chicken. He was eating alot of boiled chicken and his poops where! I have 2 other yorkies as well and they started having bad poops too. I believe they where eating more human foods than their own. My fault I have completely took human food out of there system and eating dry and canned. Poops are much better. I am having trouble getting them to eat since they have had humans foods. They only canned food they will eat is Science Puppy chicken. Nat. Balance rolls and Royal Canine dry but they not crazy about it. What would be the best for all of them since Rosco has IBD? Any advice welcome

| The only kibble I can think of would be a limited ingredient such as Natural Balance White Fish and Sweet Potato. There are lots of foods that are IBD triggers and you need to watch for easily digestible foods. Stear clear of grains in general, no rice either. White potato can also be inflammatory. Adding a quality probiotic supllement will also help.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | When eating only human foods, where their diets and cal-phos ratios being balanced? If not, that would cause a LOT of digestive issues that would mimic IBD. Did the vet diagnose IBD?

| He has been put on antibotics twice. Vet say he had alot of bacteria. When he finished meds. the bad poops would come back. He was eating some dry Nat. Balance. I guess he liked the chicken better and wasn't eating as much dog food. I haven't given him any human foods in a week and poops seem to be much better. Having a hard time finding a dog food he will eat. He seems to fit all the symptoms of IBD????

Therapy Dog Donating Member | If there was a lot of bacteria it could also be SIBO. Izzy has pancreatitis and IBD but it was SIBO that was triggering the rest for quite a while. Do you hear the tummy rumbles loud? Izzy was put on Tylan for weeks and that is what has helped her out the most besides daily Pepcid AC and steamed tilapia and The Honest Kitchen Preference. So sorry to hear about your baby..what blood tests did the vet run to conclude that it was IBD?

| They didn't do blood work just a fecal. Gave him antibotics and it cleared up. When Rosco finished medicine the nasty poops came back again. Took him back to vet and they gave him more meds. When he finished them back came the poops. After much reading on here it sounded like IBD so I took him off all human foods and giving nothing but dog food to see if there was a difference. So far his poops are a big improvement. I was giving him more human foods than dog food. My bad. He doesn't like the adjustment to dog food. I guess if I was him I wouldn't either after eating human food.
