| Is feeding frozen raw only o.k.? I just started Apple on raw (Nature's Variety Frozen Raw)...I just thaw one out in the fridge, at night, and give it to her for breakfast...She absolutely loves it!!! I'm giving her 1/4 cup of dry kibble in the evening, and she doesn't absolutely love it (it's also NV Instinct)...She'll eat some of it, because she's hungry, but never the whole amount...My question is does anyone feed just raw 100% of the time? I love the convenience of raw...And Apple loves the taste...Thanks for any input about this subject.... |

| Yes, i have been feeding 100% raw for 5 yrs now and have had no issues. Its great!!! but the only thing is the cost.... with 3 dogs it gets kind of expensive... If u are concerned Apple seems hungry, maybe add some green beans to the raw. I heard green beans r suppose to make them feel full. Aside from the raw, i do give my dogs veggies a couple of time a week and of course their treats . But even without veggies they dont seem to be hungry on just the raw.. Maybe try giving her more of the raw?? and see if that helps.. It takes some time to figure out the right portion for your dog but once u get a routine going, it will be great!!! Also, u will see a big difference in your dog!!! Good Luck! |

| Yes - we only feed Zoe raw. 1 and 1/2 medallions in the AM and 1 and 1/2 in the PM. In fact, she turns her nose down at kibble now!! LOL |

Therapy Dog Donating Member | Cosmo is on the NV medallions as well and their Prairie..the Instinct was too high in protein for him and made him drink tons fo water..not kidding..where he was peeing and it was clear. Only way I know that was because he is still a puppy and still in potty training mode..lol. Our vet told us he is drinking way more water because of the high protein. He loved the Instinct and I was bummed that he couldn't have it anymore but found out that NV makes the Prairie which is half the protein in the 24% range vs. the 40% range of the Instinct. Cosmo gets the kibble in the morning and the raw at night and he absolutely loves it. If it were not for the high cost of the medallions I would go am and pm but this works for us so I am happy. Izzy has pancreatitis/SIBO/IBD and unable to do raw medallions but I have her on The Honest Kitchen was is a freeze dried raw which the Preference which she is on is all veggies and I just add steamed tilapia or cod to it.

| I feed a prey model raw diet all the time. It's a lot easier than you might think and it's less expensive for me as well not to mention the fact that it's better for them! |

| I started Lola on the medallions on Wednesday. She gets one in the morning and one in the afternoon/dinner. She loves the raw and doesn't wanna eat kibble any more. I am going to check into the costs/savings of doing the raw myself because she seems to love the taste of "fresh" meat better. |

| Hi Maggie & Apple Snickers diet is all raw as well, his kibble is out for him just in case he wants a nibble. With him being only 3.5lbs, I want to make sure he has food out anytime he needs it. Snick gets 1 medallion in the morning and 1 in for dinner. He also gets 2 Evo biscuits for afternoon snack along with a veggie or fruit (usually carrot or apples.) On average Snick will nibble on his kibble about 3-4 times. Having 1 dog, feeding raw twice a day is in our budget. Smiles!! Snick & Viv

| We recently converted to NV Raw, and that is the only food Remy gets. We are eating the lamb right now. Occasionally he gets fresh salmon as a treat, all other food has been eliminated. He absolutely loves Raw and seems to be doing very well on the diet. He was never a big fan of kibble to begin with, he was homecooked prior to Raw |

| Thank you for asking this question. Wow! It's been so long since I've posted on these forums, I'm embarrassed. Gracie doesn't look anything like the avatar anymore. (I've got to update that). Anyway, back to the topic at hand. I just started Gracie on the NV yesterday. I mixed it with her kibble, and she gobbled it up like there was no tomorrow. She has NEVER acted excited over food before. What a huge difference! I told my hubby that it is worth every penny of the additional cost because she enjoyed it so much. I plan to gradually remove the kibble and start adding a few raw vegetables to the medallions. I know I haven't given it much time, but if the last two days are any indication, I am SOLD on this raw food. Hey, I eat a high percentage of raw foods myself (veggies and fruits, not meat), so raw must be the way to go!

| raw only...and nothing else... Seems like everyone is switching to NV raw ...And I'm not recommending this, but just wanted to tell you that I didn't even gradually switch her over...Just cut up a medallion and poof, it was gone...She's been on it for about a week, and no problems, whatsoever...Like everyone else, I'm sooooooooooo excited that I've found something Apple likes...Btw, I tried leaving out kibble, and she wouldn't eat it...She won't even eat any treats!!! Just raw, nothing else |

How much does Apple weigh? Lola is about 5-5.5 lbs. On the bag is says 3-4 per 10 lb dog. So Lola's been eating two and treats . Today though I notice she has snacked on a couple pieces of kibble. | |

| Apple probably weighs between 4 1/2 - 5 lbs.....She was 4 lbs. 6 ounces last time I had her weighed (about 6 weeks ago), but she had lost weight, due to a lose, hanging tooth...I can feel she's filled back out since then...I did give her 1 1/2 medallions twice today, but I think I'm only going to do 2 a day...She hasn't wanted to eat anything else, since I started the raw...I did cook some green beans this evening, so I'm going to give her one medallion in the morning, and a few green beans....That oughta fill her up... |

| I have been doing 1 in the morning and 1 in the evening. I put two out today and she ate them all That's probably why this evening she's had a few bites of kibble, which is the first time in almost a week she's touched it! |
