| Orijen VS Acana?? I am thinking of switching Polo's food currently he is on Natural Balance Potato and Duck, and is doing well on it but I have to mix in chicken or eggs to get him to eat it. So my choices are Orijen or Acana? which one do you think will be better?? Does Acana have lower protein content then Orijen? do your dogs actually eat this food well? (and not pick at it) Is it true that high protein dog food can fry the liver? will Polo likely gain weight cause of the high protein? |

| I have Max on Acana right now. Has been on it for about 3-4 weeks or so. He loves it. It has lower fat and protein than the Orijen. Both of these are made by the same company. Max has tried and likes the Prairie Harvest Provincial and the Pacifica Provincial. Loves them both equally. He has a sample of Wellness Fish and Sweet Potato that I have been feeding him as a snack and seems to like it a lot to. If I put the Acana down and the Wellness down he chooses the Wellness. I think the Acana is healthier through but higher protein. His vet says he needs to lose some weight (a pound or so) so I have had to decrease his Acana to 1/3 C a day. He is not happy and keeps begging. Of course he begged on 1/2 C too! LOL
