| Trouble eating Max doesn't like to eat his food anymore. He's feed twice a day and each time he would sniff the food and walk away. The only way I can get him to eat is to let him eat from my hands. Does someone know of a better way to get him to eat instead of me feeding him. |

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | how old and how much does max weigh? it might not be a big deal. mine doesn't eat twice a day. her food is left out all day long and she eats when she wants and how much she wants. sometimes she doesn't eat all day until around 10 at night. never has any problems.

| he's 8 months and 8lbs. this happened before, once he gets use to the same dog food he stops eating it. I just don't want to keep buying new favors each time he stops eating. |

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | have you tried free feeding him? maybe he's just not interested in eating twice a day anymore? at 8lbs he's not in any danger of going hypoglycemic if he misses a meal.

| He probably is done growing so does nlot require as much food. I have 8 of them and some days they eat every bite, and other days they barely touch the food. Put it out if he is hungry he will eat. |

| I've Had The Same Issues My dog is named Maxwell and he's had the same issues as you have with your Max. I've switched foods numerous of times since he was a puppy. I guess mine gets tired of the same food and wants something different. But this has happened when he is 1/3-1/2 or more thru a bag. Honestly, mine has been on 8+ foods including wet mixed with dry. Try some wet food, a teaspoon and mix it good and see if that will help. I am going thru this once again as we speak and he is 2 years old now. The Vet told me not to change foods and when he is hungry enough, he will eat. He hardly ate this weekend and I got some wet as I mentioned. He ate it one day with his dry and wouldn't the next. Tonight I got some "Chef Michael's" and mixed a bit in his dry food (Royal Cainine) and he was happy and ate a good amount. Royal Cainine is for picky eaters, supposily. I am about to post something about this about my Maxwell and saw your posting. Good Luck |
