| Nature's Variety raw patties I am hoping someone else has experience this. Cosmo, my 1 yr old lately has begun to vomit up his breakfast/dinner within 5 minutes of consuming it - if it even takes that long. He has only started to do this recently, and only with the NV raw. We use the patties, not the medallians, and we alternate the raw with kibble (1 day raw, 2 days kibble). He doesn't vomit up his kibble. I initially thought maybe he was eating it too fast, so this morning I took his serving and put a few pieces of it on a dinner plate, intending to put down a few more once those were gone. After 1 bite he refused to eat any more so I gave him kibble instead, but by the time I got the kibble down, he was barfing up the bite he took. None of the others do this. Obviously we'll just stop doing the raw, but I was curious if anyone else had experience this? |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | What flavor raw? You are thawing it right? Hmmm...yeah, if my dog kept throwing it up, I'd stop too. Or, I'd try a different flavor if I really wanted to stay w/ raw.

| This is the lamb, which they loved in the past. We tried the chicken and they flat out refused to eat it. I just hate to buy another flavor to possibly go to waste like the chicken. We didn't have problems with the lamb medallians, so I'm wondering if it's a patty thing. I thaw them overnight in the fridge. We have even stuck it in the microwave for 10 seconds, thinking it might be more palatable if it weren't so cold. |

| Regurgitating all of the food back up, then heaving a few more times for good measure with nothing coming but foam. |

| Oh schareeeeeeeek...I've got a nature's variety medallion thawing in the fridge, as we speak...I put it in a plastic baggy to thaw...Hope that's o.k...? Apple is such a picky eater, I thought I'd try raw, so I got the $4.99 trial pack (chicken), and I'm going to see how it goes...She is so funny...I put her food down, and she walks up to it, or backs away from it, like I'm trying to poison her!!! I've never seen such drama over food as this girl exhibits...I've always been used to pups running up panting and licking and going nuts over meal time...Not Ms. Diva Apple...She stands back about 3 ft. and gives the air a sniff, and if it doesn't suit her, turns tail and leaves it..Wow, these Yorkies are a breed unto themselves But sorry, this is your post...I'm all about alternative health and things, and if your baby is throwing it up, then nature is saying "no way, jose....not for my body"...Just change brands, flavors, or food, 'till she's not getting sick....One thing I've noticed about these yorkies, is if they eat something that doesn't agree w/them, they're more than likely to chuck it up pretty soon afterwards...thank goodness!!!! |

| I started my two yorkies on raw two weeks ago. They were doing so well on the raw medallions after I made the switch from kibble. Well, just this week, one refused to eat it and the other started having diarrhea and threw up. I couldn't understand why. When I first introduced them to raw, you should have seen them. They went crazy for the stuff. They inhaled their food within seconds and looked up at me begging for more. When I took my sick yorkie to my vet, she asked if there had been any changes to his diet. I told her I started giving him raw. She gave me this shocked look on her face and flat out told me that she isn't a fan of raw feeding. I told her that I heard a lot of great stuff about feeding raw and her response to me was, "I have never heard of any vet recommend feeding raw food." My yorkie is still getting over his diarrhea. The past few days hes been looking rather tired and sad. His little tummy must be hurting. I've been resting him. Since this whole ordeal, I decided not to feed my yorkies raw anymore. I know it works well for some dogs, but it clearly doesn't for mine.
