| Is my baby still growing? Our precious little baby was 2.9 lbs when we had her spayed at 6 months old. We were told by the breeder when we got her that the mother and father were 3.0 and right under 3.5 lbs respectively, and she should be about 3.5 lbs when fully grown. Took her to the vet yesterday for a minor skin irritation, and she weighed in at 3.0 lbs exactly, and she's 7 months, 1 week old. I've found so many different answers on the internet, I'm totally confused and don't know what to think. Any responses would be appreciated! |

| Breeders can only give a quess on weight. She may grow a little more or she may be done all dogs are different on theiir growth. She is for certain going to be tiny

| She shouldn't grow much more (if any). My little Chip weighed around 2.5 lbs when I first got him at 7 months. After being neatured he gained alot of weight. He is around 5 lbs right now, but that is over weight for him. She sure is a cutie pie!!

| When i got Coral spayed at 6 months, she was 5 lbs. Now she is weighing in at a whopping 6 lbs 3 1/2 months later. I think that it starts to level off around that age, but since she is my first yorkie it is just a guess. My parents have her sister from the same litter and i am pretty sure that it was the same case with her.

| I can't believe they would breed a 3 pound female. Did you actually see the parents? You should never buy a puppy without going to the breeders home first. Anyway, my Razael was 3 pounds at 7 months also, and by the time she was 18 months old, she was 6 pounds. You just never know what size they will end up, and neither does the breeder.

| someone told me that once you spay/neuter your dog, they tend to get bigger. i don't know if this is true or not, but when i took my yorkie, kenji to get neutered at 4-5 months, he was 6 pounds at the time. he is now 12 pounds at a little over a year. i'm actually taking my other yorkie, kingston, to get neutered tomorrow. he's 9 months and weighs 4.2 pounds. it will be interesting to see if he gets any bigger since they tend to slow down their growth around 9 months.

| Thanks for the replies! Thanks for all of the replies! Sophie is doing great, but still weighs in at 3 lbs, even though it's been 5 weeks since she was spayed! |
