| Raw chicken Hi, today I gave my baby 2 pieces of chicken breast raw and it seems that he likes the raw much more them the cook one. He eat it all at once, while the cook one he takes his sweet time. He eats a piece go away comes back in a few minutes eat another piece and on and on. Is raw food good for him? Is anyone else in this forum give their babies raw food. Achilles eats home cook meals and once in a while I give him a 1/2 cup of canidae dry food. Thank you Achilles' Mom Last edited by Achilles; 09-09-2009 at 04:56 PM. |

| well raw, like home cooked, is very involved (supplements, K/cals, ratio of calcium to phosphous) unless you buy a premade raw which usually has all of that sorted out for you. I would suggest premade to start with. |

Donating YT 500 Club Member | Raw food is great, you just have to make sure they get all supplements. Wylie's mom here is a good person to check with the raw diets. You also can go into search for raw diets and it will bring up threads with previous discussions.

| i thought chicken wings or any kind off chicken bones is bad , as the bones are so fine and they cud choke on them or is that meant for bigger dogs. my furbutts have never had chicken wings because off that reason |

My furkids Donating Member | I do not feed raw but, was told that raw chicken bones are soft and they are easier to chew and won't choke them. It's when they are cooked that they splinter. You could check with others on here that do feed raw.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I have fed raw for about 2 years now. I feed pre-made raw (whereas it looks like you're trying to do Prey Model, right?). I like pre-made bc it's so convenient. Plus, Marcel w/ his tiny mouth has never been able to do a thing to a raw bone. Nothing wrong w/ giving balanced cooked meals, and kibble, once in a while either - like you are - that's sort of a "rotation" diet and the variety is good for them. So, since you're doing Prey, are you doing the organ meats and stuff?
