| Hair Loss We boarded our 12 1/2 old Yorkie in July for 3 days. A few days after she came home she had diarrhea. A couple of days on rice she was fine but at that time we noticed she had a 2 inch diameter bald spot on her left shoulder. It was time for her yearly checkup and shots so we took her to the vets. He wasn't the least bit concerned and said that it wasn't mange. A week later we had to take her back to the vets because she was scratching it and it was becoming inflamed. He said that it was just a hot spot and put her on Bioclav 62.5 tablets plus Topagen Spray for the itch. He also did a blood test and said that her blood was just fine and that she had system of a much younger dog. The spot has cleared up but her hair on whole left side is very thin and her right side is now thinning too. Her head, chest and sides/under belly are fine. Other than the 3 days at the kennels we haven't changed anything in her enviroment. She still goes everyday for her long walks and doesn't seem to be ill. Please help!!! |

| No he didn't do a scrap but said that it wasn't mange. It's all healed now except for the hair loss. |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | This could be ringworm, and you won't always see a "ring" in dogs. They'd have to culture it and grow it out for 10-14 days. What blood tests were run?
