Donating YT 10K Club Member | Here ya go.... The formula for figuring out the dosage for Childrens Liquid Benedry is: Your dogs body weight times 5 divided by 12.5 = dose in cc/ml To figure out your dogs body weight you have to convert ounces to pounds... EX: a dog that weighs 4 pounds 10 ounces would weigh 4.625 pounds you must take the 10 ounces and divide by 16 then add the 4 pounds... 10 divided by 16 = .625 + 4 =4.625 4.625 X 5 divided by 12.5 =1.85 cc/ml

| Why do you want to give Benadryl? I give mine 12.5 mg which is 1/2 of a pill but that is what my vet told me to give them for their allergies.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | The rule of thumb is, try 1mg/lb at first...but you can safely also give 2mg/lb too. I see a Vet Derm. - and they actually recommend 2mg/lb across the board. Other antihists the Derm recommends for dogs are: Chlor Trimeton, Claritin, Zyrtec (the last 2 are nice bc they are 24hr pills, so you only give once a day).

| Did the vet tell you she had allergies? If not, what is she doing to make you believe she has allergies?

| she is itching all the time, rubbing her back on the underside of furniture till she rubs raw spots and sometime till she bleeds then she will drag her belly along the carpet. she had some bumps on her back but the chamomile tea got rid of those and she still itches. i was looking for atleast some temporary relief for her. any other ideas would be greatly appreciated. |

| What type of Benadryl pill do you use? I can only find the children's or capsules. He hates the liquid so I thought the pill would be easier. (The Benadryl pill that I got from his former vet was round and white).
