| toenail infection Winston keeps getting an infection on top of his toenails. The first time the vet put him on a liquid antibiotic and steroid cream and it cleared up in about a week. Now about 4 months later he has another one on his other foot. It gets angry looking right above his toenail around the cuticle area. I started back with the steroid cream and it cleared up in about 4 days. It seems that both times he got this, he had recently been to the groomer. I'm wondering if she is not sterilizing her clippers. I can't figure any other reason he would get an infection. The vet said that Yorkies are prone to this problem, but the breeder I got him from said she had never heard of that. He is 15 months old and in perfect health. I also noticed that he has a slight rash on his tummy. I'm not sure if she rinsed him well enough to get the cream rinse out. Anyone have any suggestions.
