| Did the spay/neuter affect your puppy's personality? Just wondering because I've heard before that a lot of times puppies calm down a little after being spayed/neutered. I was looking to hear other people's experiences with this. Delilah will be spayed in a month so I'm just curious. She's pretty hyper now (typical puppy, I'm sure), and I'm wondering if this will calm her down a bit or if it's all just an old wives tale.

| I didn't notice so much change with the spay/neutering of Gracie Ruth & Yogi as just they seem to be calming down with age. 19 months & 12 months respectively.

| Agree. No change due to neutering. I think it's mostly due to getting older.

| The biggest (and almost only) difference I noticed was no more marking inside!! The few weeks before his surgery, Riot was marking EVERYTHING. He'd stop, lift his leg then look at you and do his 'attitude dance'...kick his back feet back a few times and hop around in circles But no more now! Of course I"m sure you won't have much of a marking problem with your girl...

My furkids Donating Member | I didn't noticed a change in attitude or personality either...they did put on almost a pound though...my vet told me not to give to many treats and pick up there food when they are done so they can't pick.

| Nah, I wouldn't say personality change. He did seem to calm down a bit but he still kept his personality. He stopped humping. He used to hump ALL the time!! He will do it occasionally still, like maybe once every few months, but not like when he was a puppy lol. And he never marked indoors but he doesn't mark outside as much as he did. Jackson was neutered at almost 7 mo. old.
