| She will be very sleepy when she gets home. Probably til the next day. She probably won't feel like eating much. I'm sure there are some on here that could help with that. One good tip I learned is not to pick her up under the arms for awhile because it stretches the belly. Just do the butt scoop. Good luck tomorrow and give her hugs and kisses from Coco, Pebbles and Trixie.

| I am a overly nervous mommie, I rescheduled Jazzies spay a few times. Finally I brought her in, she did fine, the procedure is maybe 20 minutes or so. When I picked her up she was groggy, sleepy, I did take her outside to see if she had to go pipi, she did. I put her in a little soft carrier, she slept for a while, when she woke up, I gave her a few kibbles of her dry food, gave her a syringe or 2 of water, she went back to sleep, around bedtime I took her back outside and she tinkled. The next day she acted like she wanted to run and play Oh my gosh! If only we could all feel that great after a hysterectomy! I kept her confined for 2 days. Best wishes.

Donating YT 500 Club Member | Roxy was spayed at 7 mo. Very quiet/sleepy that first day, didn't eat much. Very carefully walked outside to potty. Next day... bam...back to normal & impossible to hold her down. Had to crate her a few times just to keep her quiet for awhile, but it was right back to her old self. Have seen no personality changes, nor did it affect her potty training at all. Good luck with her! Something is very unfair about this whole thing. I didn't want to play for several days after mine. She doesn't have hot flashes, or anything else us women experience. Unfair I tell ya... just plain unfair!!! : )

| Thanks for this question, I am having my 6 1/2 month old female spayed on September 4 and I have been soooo worried. I hate to leave her at the Dr. to have it done. I have also considered waiting but my vet doesn't want her to go into heat, also I have a 5 month old male that will be neutered on the same day. At least they will be together.

| I just dropped my Abby off at the vet so she can get spayed in the morning. It was very hard to leave her. My eight year old daughter says to me, "Mommy, how do you know that in Abby's life she never wanted to have puppies?" .. that broke my heart. But my husband and i explained to her about why we were having her fixed. Maybe one day she'll understand Can't wait to get Abby back tommorrow |

| Tessie was spayed on Sept.4, she did great. She started bleeding from a hematoma( common) when we were leaving the vet but he repaired this and bandaged her belly. She had to stay overnight but my vet stayed there with her. This broke my heart but I knew he would take care of her. The belly band has been great because she has already wanting to run and jump. I was told to prevent this for 14 days. She only had pain meds the first 2 nights. She is eating, drinking, and pottying like always. We also had our 5 1/2 month old male neutered at the same time but he came home. Hobbes acts like nothing hurts except his feelings because now he can't be a stud. The bandage has been great because he will not leave Tessie alone. We have her bandage checked on Wednesday.

| Hi! Abby is doing great for the most part. She's still pretty sore and taking pain meds but i can't stop her from running and jumping. The only way I could do this is if i crated her for 14 days and i don't have the heart to do that. We try to limit our play with Abby some but she's still a wild girl She does keep licking her incision. Her incision looks pretty good though. Not red, stitches intact, so i think she's not hurting them too bad. Glad that it's gone well for your dogs too Susan Lynn |

| Motley was the same age when he was fixed. I honestly think it was harder on me to leave him overnight then it was him to go through it. He is also a little wildman an after the first day there was no way to keep him calm, he actually ended up pulling out the stitches himself which resulted in a mad rush to the vet only to find out he was ok. He came through it all just fine and like I said above I really think it's harder on us then it is them. |

| Hey 1sissydog,Thank you, I hope they put the belly band back on or I am afraid Tessie will pull her stitches out. My male Hobbes will not leave her alone. Tessie jumps on the couch but won't jump off. I won't crate either one of mine, they are confined to the kitchen/sunroom where we stay most of the time. I am glad to know your little gir Abbyl is doing good.

| I agonized over taking mine but knew I needed too. When I left them Friday morning I was crying but had to go to work. I asked that they be kept together until the surgery. When I went to pick them up I was so happy but I had to leave Tessie there so I was so upset I wanted to stay there with her. My vet called that evening to let me know how she was doing. It helped a little to know he was there with her. He also has a yorkie. I couldn't wait to pick her up Saturday morning. My husband and I have been with her and Hobbes every minute since they got home. I hate to go to work tomorrow and leave them but I think they are ok now.
