| scratch under his eyelid Hello all yorkie lovers. My lil guy was playing with my moms dog and my cat today, all 3 were having a blast and when I got home I noticed a little scratch under his eyelid. Its red and the skin is broken, he is not bleeding or crying but Im worried about infection. Is there a home remedy I can use ex) neosporin, polysporin....Thanks for your input. |

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | do you mean under his eye, like on his skin or on his actual eyeball? if its on the skin you can put some neosporin on it, just make sure he doesn't get it in his eye.

| No its not on his eyeball. Its right under his eye. right below his eyelid. Its a fine scratch. Just making sure ointment would be okay. |

| Keep an eye on it...My Moms cat did the same ting to peanut! I got some ointment and also some eye drops..it cleared in about 4 days with no problem.. Cats nails are very very dirty..just keep a watch on his eye make sure it is not getting infected..and also my Mom's cat got him right under his eye..like under the eye lid and the Dr did a eye fluorescent stain to make sure the cat didnt nick his eye!!

| If it's under the eye, I think an antibiotic ointment would be fine. My puppy recently got an eye infection the same way except that he actually got scratched in the eye. Just keep a close eye on it and if in doubt, get him right in to the vet. |
