| I know you can feed them eggs, but I"m not sure how often. I do know that some dogs are allergic to eggs, so you will have to watch for reactions. Hopefully someone will come along and give you a better answer. |

| That's funny you should post this question because I just asked Simba's doctor last week, who I have worked with in the past, because Simba LOVES scrambled eggs! Simba didn't like what the doctor said. Assuming your dog is a Yorkie, no more than 1/2 egg a week (sorry!) because of their size. The main issue is the amount of cholestrol. Then I asked about Egg Beaters or any other type of egg substitute. She said that still keep it to a minimum of 1/2 an egg portion twice a week. This is mainly because of their size, and I hate to disappoint my sweetie pie, but I don't give him anything else but what the doctor tells me. I've worked in the veterinary field for almost 9 years, and I feel that this amount of egg in their little systems is right. I hope this helps you. |

| My 6 babies get egg about twice a week. I squish up 1 boiled egg and divide it 6 ways with their Chicken Soup. They do love them so much; even though 1/6th of an egg is hardly enough to taste!

| Vet's have only had about 1 hour of nutrition class in the 6 years of school. If you start digging into all the people, Vets. and such that "claim" they are experts, you will notice how diverse their opinions are on nutrition. Fact is, there are no real experts in this field simply because there has been no lengthy study over the years. It's just a ploy to sell books and such since this day and age people are treating their dogs like their kids and spending a great deal of money on them. What helps or is good for one dog can make another dog very ill. It's trial and error the whole way.

Yes, but cholestrol is cholestrol. I would trust a vet who has been one for over 20 years. She's one of the better vets in the area. Where are you getting your information from??? | |

| Eggs are fine, probably even one a day. I wouldn't say that everyone should start feeding them to their dogs though. The fat content and weight gain plus pancreatitis are concerns. Also, if you are feeding a certain amount of people food, it is very important that you add supplements. I would say one egg a day at about 70 calories would require supplementation because it is more than 10% of the diet. A lot of dogs who eat homecooked food do very well getting eggs daily.

| I have the recipe for a healthy kibble supplement that is made mostly of eggs. I thought you might find that helpful since it boosts the values of the kibble and adds extra nutrients. If you want the recipe, just let me know and I will post it here. I home cook for mine and when I forget to defrost their food in time, I give them oats and eggs with a supplement. They love it and it is very healthy. I don't think eggs are bad for them, I would just keep the oil content of the scrambled eggs as low as possible and I would also use a good oil, such as olive, sunflower oil or canola oil. Sunflower and corn oil has omega 6 while canola, flaxseed and flax oils are good sources of omega 3. Let me know if you want that recipe

| Since I have scrambled eggs for breakfast (I'm a big believer in the health of eggs), I put about a teaspoon to a tablespoon of egg in 1/4 cup of innova for Apple's breakfast...that, and a few blueberries and organic spinach leaves are the only human food I give her, except for one tiny piece of cheese w/her interceptor pill on the first of the month...I tried to give her tiny pieces of cheese, now and again, for a treat, but she got constipated ...And cheese probably does have too much fat in it anyway.... |
