| What causes dogs to have gas? I have 3 yorkies and none of them have this problem except Rosco. Ever since we brought him home he has gas at least 2 times a day and it can run you out of the room He has had inflammed GI and is currently on med. for it now. Is that the cause. He eats Nat. Bal. pot. and duck, chick. Nat. Bal. rolls and grilled turkey.

| Something your pup's eating isn't agreeing with his digestive tract likely. My girl gets gas from anything chicken. If chicken is lower in the ingredient list, the gas is a little more mild (i.e., in some kibbles formula). When I fed boiled and/or raw chicken, she used to be seriously stinky gassing at a constant more than the twice a day you are experiencing now. This is also why I had to stop feeding her Halo's Wild Salmon formula because they had chicken lower on the ingredient list, but present all the same as she got a little gassy then also. |

I agree. I would look at your ingredient list and then look for a different food. Is this food fairly new in the diet? Did the gas coincide w/ introducing something new?

| No, he seems to have gas no matter what he eats. He seems fine though. He is doing much better with his GI,but he still has gas. I hope his inflammation doesn't come back again. I hate to see him stay on med.

| Wookie went through bouts of gas when I was trying to feed him raw and switching his food. I went back to Innova EVO and home fed and he still occasionally has some. My hollistic vet assured me it was normal, he said something would be wrong if he DIDN'T have gas. He said all healthy dogs (like people) have some gas, its just doesn't always have an odor with some dogs.

| Depending on how frequent it is, it may just be natural thing for him. If its happening a lot it might be as other poster's mentioned - a food issue. My Winston has pretty severe issues with grains. When I first got him (and hadn't switched foods yet) it was so bad that I had to have all the windows in my apartment open 24/7. With the windows closed, it was as if something was sitting and rotting in my apartment. In our case, switching to a food without grains was the trick and the gas issues stopped completely. You're feeding the limited ingredient potato and duck right? Other then wondering if he has an issue with potatoes or duck - flaxseed can be an issue for some humans (from a gas and bloating standpoint, sometimes with diarrhea.) If he had been fed a food with a smaller amount of flaxseed and has jumped to a much higher amount this could be causing his gas issues. |

| Wow, totally forgot about that part (then again I can't find the chicken rolls on their website so that might be why it slipped my mind.) Don't all those rolls have a lot of wheat so they stay together? If thats the case, sounds like his enzymes just like to produce more gas then the other dogs!
