| I use it as a trade off. Sometimes they get tired of the same thing. I've just started using Halo and Merrick.....

| I've been using the Eukanuba Puppy and Shayna is just seems to like it (but her sisters Adult Eukanuba she always likes better), but my friend swears by the Eukanuba Yorkie food and says they poop better, and it doesn't stick to their hair (excuse me). I just ordered a trial of Taste of the Wild and look forward to trying that and it is all natural, no by- products and many members seem to recommend it. I recently switched my Mini Bull to Eukanuba from grocery store food and saw a huge difference in her skin, no more hot spots. She will be going on the TOTW too, she has a cyst I'd like to see go away. So I will see! |

| I have used Eukanuba for many years, my dogs are very healthy and none are overweight. i pay fewer vet bills than most people that i know, so i am very happy with the results.

| My baby has a very sensitive stomach. Always at the vet. I have never tried Eukanuba. But I did switch him to Canidae... the wet food. It comes in 3 formula: chicken, lamb, and fish. My baby likes them all. Since we put him on this food he has been 100% perfect!

| Alexander has a allergy to chicken in kibble. I'd really try to stay away from any dog food that contains chicken if I were you. Alex is so miserable whenever he eats foods or treats with chicken, and it takes awhile for it to get out of his system. There are many, many good brands that have foods that don't contain chicken. Some that I'd recommend you look into are: Nature's Variety (Instinct & Prairie formulas) Natural Balance Orijen Fresh Fish California Natural There are others but they're just not coming to mind right now. Good luck!

| I used to feed Eukanuba until I learn it wasn't a premium food. Then I switched to Artemis and Merrick. Some people in YT swear by INNOVA EVO. Also, here in YT there is a sticky of the premium foods. you can also go to www.dogfoodanalysis.com and check the food reviews for eukanuba

Review Date: Thu January 10, 2008 Would you recommend the product? No | Price you paid?: Not Indicated | Rating: 0 Pros: First ingredient is a named meat product Cons: Insufficient meat content, byproducts, low quality grains, controversial filler The first ingredient in the food is a named meat product. This is not a meal ingredient. It is inclusive of water content (about 80%). Once that is removed, as it must be to create a dehydrated product, the ingredient will weigh around 20% of its wet weight. Ingredients are listed in order of weight, and the dehydrated ingredient would probably be more accurately placed much further down the ingredient list. It is highly unlikely that this ingredient makes any significant contribution to the overall meat content of the food. The next ingredient, and the main meat ingredient in the food, is byproducts. It is impossible to ascertain the quality of by-products and these are usually products that are of such low quality as to be rejected for use in the human food chain, or else are those parts that have so little value that they cannot be used elsewhere in either the human or pet food industries. The AAFCO definition of chicken by-product meal is “a meal consisting of the ground, rendered, clean parts of the carcass of slaughtered chicken, such as necks, feet, undeveloped eggs and intestines, exclusive of feathers, except in such amounts as might occur unavoidable in good processing practice.” The main grains in the food are corn, sorghum and brewers rice. Corn is a cheap grain that is difficult to digest and commonly associated with food allergies. Brewers rice is a further low quality grain and byproduct. Sorghum is decent quality, as is barley amongst the minor ingredients. Beet pulp is controversial filler which appears to be used in large quantities in this food. It is a by-product, being dried residue from sugar beets which has been cleaned and extracted in the process of manufacturing sugar. It is a controversial ingredient in dog food, claimed by some manufacturers to be a good source of fibre, and derided by others as an ingredient added to slow down the transition of rancid animal fats and causing stress to kidney and liver in the process. We note that beet pulp is an ingredient that commonly causes problems for dogs, including allergies and ear infections, and prefer not to see it used in dog food. There are less controversial products around if additional fibre is required. Fish meal is a further meat ingredient in the food, but it is far too far down the ingredient list to make any significant contribution to the overall meat content of the food. We find no sign on the manufacturer's website of a guarantee that only ethoxyquin-free protein ingredients are used in this food (ethoxyquin is a chemical preservative, commonly added to fish ingredients, and that is banned or heavily regulated in human food due to the belief that it is carcinogenic). We would prefer to see the use of whole eggs rather than egg product in the food.

| The only reason I have fed Eukanuba Puppy food to Tinky was because her breeder said her bowels are very sensitive and feeding her a different brand can make her stool, well, mushy. But I have experimented with mixing Nature's Balance with the Eukanuba and she absolutely loves it.

To the OP, you should really try Merricks, its got all the ingrediants that is good for yorkies and it even helps keep the smell down with their poo poo , (but only if you get the Cowboy cookout one). The chicken pot pie tends to make their poo smell .
