YT Addict | EVO or Orijen dog food? HI everyone i was wondering on other peoples opinion on dog food. I feed my dogs Natures variety and primal raw food right now. I been wanting to change the dry food (Natures Variety) to Evo or Origen. The natures variety is good but but i don't think it is the right one for my dogs. I use to give them the raw stuff they had as well and that didn't sit well in their tummies so that's why i give them the primal raw food. And now im thinking if the raw food from them didn't work that well the dry probably is not working that great. So i decided i want to change it ether to Evo or Orijen. Does anyone feed their dogs this? What have been your results. thank you!!! |

| well I havn't tried those foods but I hear EVO is really good. I use Acana it is a grain free dry food made in canada there food is fresh never frozen and they use human grade ingredients I get Acana Pacifica the pacifica has salmon which is great for skin and coat since I've switched to the Acana my dogs have not had any diarrea issues and poop less. however it is a little spendy but our dogs are worth it. sincerly, michelle |

Senior Yorkie Talker | I'm feeding mine Orijen. My friend and I (she also has a Yorkie puppy) researched dog foods for the longest time. Orijen is a top rated dog food...grain free. My puppies are eating it and doing really well on it...only problem is I got the Orijen puppy formula-all breeds, which is the smallest size they make and I still have to chop it up into even smaller pieces. The fact that is is grain free makes the kibble very hard. So...I have to chop dog food every day. I'm sure as my babies grow I can stop doing this..but for now it's no fun...but I'm still willing to do it because I really do believe it is a good quality food for them.

| Both are great foods but my yorkies seemed to poop a lot more when they were on Orijen so I swiched them to EVO red meat and that seemed to help. |

YT Addict | thanks good to know. i heard they were a little to high in the protein area. and some people had problems with their dogs getting to high enzyme levels in their liver. decisions decisions. Im going out and buying a new bag of something tomorrow and I had a little sample bag of Evo red meat and they loved it.They never tried Origen. Hmm.. well i guess both are on the top of the list for good dog food i only want the best for them. Is there any like beets or food that causes staining. In the ingredients i just got a new puppy that is a Maltese and i heard that that can cause tear staining along with preservatives. I like the small bites because my dogs are so tiny. And i did the chopping up thing before with another brand and it stunk but i wouldn't mind if they did good on it. |
