| he was doing so well.. for the past three days, louie barely wants to eat. i normally give him 1/4 a cup of royal canin puppy twice a day when he wakes up and at 6pm. but now in the morning, he only takes a couple of bites and during dinner, he'll eat about half of his food only if it's in my hand. if i try giving him some afterwards, he'll just sniff it and walk away. i think what went wrong was i started giving him bread as treats. but i completely stopped giving him any treats during the day so he'll be hungry for his meals but it hasn't been working. before, he would eat all his food all at one sitting. and after giving him a treat, he'll still eat his food. i don't know what to do, i just want him to start eating normally again.

| a response for you Latte is sometimes like Louie. She usually leaves about a third of her food in her plate in the evening. She had a lot of teeth pulled years ago and seems to be more comfortable eating off her rug by her dish. Sometimes when I want to coax her to eat more, I put a little pile of Rice Krispies next to her plate. They are so bland I know they can't hurt her, and she usually eats her food when she's done with the Krispies! Another tip-I have always heard that a dog will not allow itself to starve. My husband would kill me if I could only get her to eat out of my hand. He hates it when she eats something in the living room!! |

| just curious if any other signs of anything else as yes some dogs are picky but sometimes it is an underlying health issue that can cause them to not want to eat as when they eat they feel sick -- just throwing that out here |
