| I think my Yorkie has anxiety??? I traveled with my yorkie over the weekend and we just got home yesterday. I don't think she did very well. She was shaking almost the entire time and would hardly sleep. To make it worse, we couldn't get her to eat at all. We tried everything including rice, etc. When we got to where we were going, she threw up several times. Now that we are home, I was hoping she would start feeling better, but she threw up twice last night and still won't eat. She is extremely picky anyway and always sniffs and walks away from her food, but will usually go back at some point and eat. She hasn't done that this time. We have taken her on smaller road trips and she has done fine. I'm a little confused by her inconsistencies, but I'm really worried about her right now with the throwing up. Any suggestions? |

| Do you think she might have gotten car sick, because it was a longer ride? If she keeps not eating I'd call the vet and ask for some suggestions.

| Try putting a little sprinkle of Parmesan cheese on her food. Moisten the kibbles with water just a little of the cheese the smell entice them to eat. Do you have any Grizzly Salmon Oil for dog to put on the food that’s a great way to get them to eat?

| If your yorkie is still hyper I would take her to the vet, these kids are so fragile it does not take much to shut them down. take care, good luck |

| Maybe put a tight shirt on her to help her calm down.. they say it works for fire works why not help to calm nerves? When I am stressed I cant eat so maybe after she calms down she will be better... keep us updated.

| So we are on day three of being back from our trip. I did as Deborah suggested and I put a little Parmesan on top of her food and it seemed to work. When I put the bowl down, she sniffed it as she always does and as she was about to walk away I think she realized it was different. She picked up a few pieces and it seemed like she sucked the cheese off and spit the rest on the floor, but after doing this about four times she finally really started eating. It worked again this morning, so thank you Deborah!!! She hasn't thrown up again either. However, she is still acting more hyper and a little more aggressive then usual and is pooping and crying when left alone. She didn't do this before the trip. She wanted to go to the store with me yesterday (it was her 1st birthday) and when I got back to the car she had pooped in my seat. She has done this once before. Today I took her to the groomer and the groomer said she was very hyper this time. The groomer also said she pooped in the kennel when they put her in it and that she had never done that there before. I'm sad because I feel like I shouldn't have taken her on the trip, but I really want her to travel with me. Do you think she will get better? Should I invest in some kind of stress reducer/anti-anxiety pill? Any other suggestions out there? |
