| Did all of her baby teeth fall out or get pulled? What toothpaste are you using? Does she chew on anything? It is very likely that she will need a dental.

| What kind of food are you feeding her? You can put some gauze on your finger (try opening a gauze pad a 2x2 size works and wrap it around your index finger - and see if you can "rub" some of the material off the teeth. You may be seeing food build up as opposed to tartar. Also, try using an electric toothbrush (child size or one for pets) as this can help to loosen the material as well. You also can buy a dental scaler if your dog sits still enough and you can scrape the material off his teeth yourself every couple of months. I've been doing that for Barney since he was a baby and he is going to be 9 years old in August and the vet says he still does not need a dental! I also brush his teeth a couple of times per week. good luck
